Diptych, 2023.
Scanography, of enlarged 600 film Polaroids printed on PolarPrl Metallic Plus photo paper.
Size prints 13x19 inches.
The images presented are enlarged scans of Polaroid photographs, specifically scanographs of 600 film, printed on PolarPrl Metallic Plus photo paper. My first official camera, a Polaroid One Step Close Up 600, that was gift to me from my grandmother, or as I know her; Kamitsi, during the summer of 2020.
The diptych Polaroids featured in this collection are part of my personal family archive, showcasing the homes of my grandmother and great uncles located on the Santa Rosa Rancheria, in Lemoore, California. In recent years, I have taken on the role of a family historian, dedicating myself to preserving our family's history.
These two photographs are particularly significant, as they represent a moment in time, capturing the former state of my elders’ homes. Between 2023 and 2025, these homes will continue to face the effects of time, but I plan to document them further through additional Polaroid photographs, ensuring that these important places in my life are recorded.
